Participating in the internship program on The Art of Book Review has been an insightful and enriching experience. Through the course, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the phrases, expressions, and stylistic tools essential for crafting compelling book reviews. The sessions enhanced my perspective on how to evaluate books critically, articulate informed opinions, and engage readers with thoughtful commentary.
While the integration of AI into the process was a unique addition, I felt that it could have been more interactive or personalized. That said, for an internship setting, it served its purpose reasonably well. However, I would like to suggest the inclusion of at least two to three live Google Meet sessions. Interacting with professionals—especially those with firsthand experience in reviewing books or movies—could have added tremendous value to the learning journey.
One of the highlights was the example provided on To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. It was practical, clear, and helped contextualize the reviewing process. To further improve, I recommend offering downloadable transcripts or original AI-generated content. This would greatly support us in archiving our learning materials and referring back to them in the future, especially during academic writing.
I say this from experience—during my undergraduate studies, I undertook a similar internship where such interactive and documented learning methods were adopted. The structure encouraged deeper engagement and had a larger outreach in terms of student participation.
In conclusion, this internship has positively contributed to my understanding of reviewing and rating literature. With a few enhancements—such as live sessions, expert guest speakers, and downloadable content—it can become even more impactful and potentially gain a wider reputation. Thank you for being a part of my academic journey and offering this unique learning opportunity.
Warm regards,
